Gastritis: ¿con cuál clasificación histológica nos quedamos?

Resumen


La gastritis es un proceso inflamatorio de la mucosa gástrica, de etiopatogenia variable, que ha sido objeto de múltiples y sucesivas clasificaciones. La persistencia de los síntomas de la fase aguda puede dar origen a atrofia glandular, aumento del daño tisular y aparición de cáncer gástrico. El diagnóstico no sólo depende de las características clínicas y endoscópicas, sino del estudio histopatológico de las muestras resecadas. El propósito de este trabajo es describir los cambios morfológicos de la mucosa gástrica, así como, revisar las distintas clasificaciones histológicas de gastritis y su repercusión clínica.
